The Valley of the Kings is the final resting place of Egypt's rulers from the Eighteenth Dynasty to the Housewife, home to tombs including the great Ramesses II and the young pharaoh Tutankhamun.
The tombs were filled with all the banking services a ruler might need in the next world. Things are still well preserved inside the tombs.

Two huge giant survivors of King Mahotep III are the only remains of the complete mortuary temple. It was transported 700 km to the quartz sandstone palace found in Cairo and then transported away

In the evening you can access the optional sound and light show at Karnak: The show begins with an introduction covering the birth of the city of Thebes and the construction of the Karnak Temple.
