We begin the tour by walking through the Siq, or wadi, which is a narrow, winding gorge more than a kilometer long. The beautiful sandstone formations of Petra were occupied by the Edomites. What made Petra an attractive site for the Nabataeans was its apparent disappearance behind a narrow, easily defensible valley known as the Siq.
When you reach the end of this beautiful valley, you will find a very narrow opening that provides you with a hole into one of the most amazing sites in Petra - the Treasury. It was carved into the side of the mountain's sandstone face probably in the 1st century BC.
After the visit to the treasury we will visit the Roman theater which dates back to Byzantine era & the Royal tombs. Not a lot is known about the ancient culture of the Nabateans, except that they were excellent engineers with amazing skill and craft. They built water conservation and irrigation systems and carved their homes, temples and tombs right out of the rocks.
Have lunch at the Movenpick hotel in the city center.
Our tour will begin to the hill of Al-Habes Castle in Petra, which dates back to the Crusader times, to enjoy a stunning panoramic view of the deep canyons and rock formations with unique colors.
We will return to Aqaba at 6.45pm where you will have one hour of free time for shopping.
Then you will return to Nuweiba Marine by your boat, then return to Sharm El Sheikh by bus that arrives after midnight and you will be transferred again to your hotel.
