This day trip allows you to discover Wadi Natrun about 120 km west of Cairo. This ancient valley in the Egyptian desert is the birthplace of Christian monasticism. The valley is also home to many monasteries in which we admire the charm of architecture and Coptic art . This valley is also a paradise for birdwatchers because many birds pass there.

Monastery of the Romans (Deir El-Baramus in Egyptian). One of the oldest sites in the region with five churches. According to tradition, it is said that two Roman priests fleeing the persecution of Christians lived in this desert valley and established this monastery there.
Syrian Monastery (Deir El-Suryanis in Egyptian). This monastery owes its name to the Syrian monks who lived in this place in the 8th century. There is the Church of the Virgin Mary with its exquisite murals

Monastery of St. Bishoi (Deir Anba Bishoi in Egyptian). This monastery bears the name of the patron saint Bishoi who lived alone in this place. It contains five churches, the main one of which is Saint Bishoi where his body rests. It also has two charming chapels.
